nowhere series

Born from my occasional boredom with abstraction--these paintings aren't finished by any means; they are currently just underpaintings. I suppose I will continue to work on them (practice glazing or something) when I feel the need to do something different.

A northwestern Ohio landscape is plainly beautiful - simply land and sky.

eureka!

Earlier I had an urge to paint the remaining glaze I was using onto canvas paper to use for "fraction" pieces at a later date.  Afterward, I realized that making these little paintings is also a good use for the leftover (wasted) paint that I have around the studio (though, I am getting better at portioning).  Moments like these are awesome.

yet again...

In other news...
I have been working on two new paintings and I have finished Plateau [Plagioclase Feldspar]...finally, considering I started the underpainting before I moved in 2011, hah.  I will post images when I have access to a camera that isn't my mobile phone ;)  These days, however, I am picking up the pace, spending the majority of my free time working/thinking/planning, and preparing for Downtown Bowling Green's apARTment in March and Toledo's Automatic 419! in April.
